I came from Hokkaido, Japan. Hokkaido is situated in the northern-most part of the Japanese archipelago. It is not a densely populated area where only 5 million people reside, while it is the largest prefecture in Japan. It has many tourist attractions which you are never bored with.

In spring, you will be able to enjoy viewing beautiful Sakura, cherry blossoms in April and May. On the contrary, thanks to relatively slow snow-melting, you will be still able to enjoy skiing in Niseko area, a world-famous ski resort on this season.

Among all of the seasons, the summer of Hokkaido is the best time of the year. Unlike other parts of Japan, the humidity there is way low. You never miss finding a good summer retreat in Hokkaido.

If you are attracted by breathtaking nature with its wild animals such as bears and cranes it is worth taking the long drive to the Shiretoko World Heritage Centre. Hokkaido has four distinct seasons, and you will be fascinated by magnificent scenery, and the brilliant autumnal colours of the leaves.

However cold the winter might be, Hokkaido has plenty to attract to visitor although the seasons are defined the climate is comparatively mild. The third largest city in Hokkaido, Hakodate often ranking as the top of the attractive city in Japan, full of many historical sites which showed the progression of Hokkaido to the modern nation of Japan today. For visitors thinking more of today Hakadate has the “Morning Market” which is the focus for its gourmet fans. Walk into the market and you will never forget the vibrant atmosphere with tantalizing smell of boiled crabs and exquisite fresh squid.

With all the natural grandeur of Hokkaido, you can even expect to lead an urbanized life there. Sapporo, the largest city in the prefecture reaching almost two million in population, has well-designed grid avenues and highly developed transportation including rubber-tyre-wheel subway network. It used to be the first Winter Olympic site in Asia around 40 years ago, and recently, the Mayor again announced it for 2026 Olympic Games.

So, please come and see our Hokkaido. This tranquil land is always waiting for you.
